As a member of the panel that will select the 2015 Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award winner, each week I’ll publish the release awarding the Player of the Week award. The release is below. Check back here each week to find out who will win the honor en route to selection of the 2015 Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award winner later this year. The College Football America 2015 Yearbook Encyclopedia featured some of these players earlier this football season. The book is available on CFBMatrix.com for just $9.99. Get a copy today. It’s the most comprehensive College Football book of its kind.

TYLER, Texas – TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin has been named the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award National Player of the Week for the sixth week of the college football season.

The Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week totaled 425 yards of offense and four touchdowns in leading the Horned Frogs to a game-winning drive in the final two minutes in a Big 12 road game for the second time this season.  The 18 point second-half comeback that resulted in a 52-45 win at Kansas State tied for the largest come-from-behind victory in head coach Gary Patterson’s 15 seasons.  Boykin completed 20-of-30 passes for 301 yards and ran for a career-high 124 yards on 11 attempts.  Boykin’s career-long 69 yard scoring run with 6:07 to play gave TCU a one-point lead before his two-point conversion extended it to three.  The TCU quarterback posted his fourth consecutive 300-yard passing game, went over 9,000 career yards in passing (9,256) and extended his TCU career record to 76 touchdowns passes.

“If you want to win in this conference, you have to win on the road,” Boykin said, “Coming from behind shows the kind of fight we have in this team.”

Boykin is the 2014 winner of The Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award.    Boykin is a graduate of West Mesquite High School in Dallas, Texas.
